September 3, 2011: Ainu Culture Festival 2011 Osaka

The Ainu Culture Festival 2011 Osaka hosted organized by the Foundation for Research and Promotion of Ainu Culture (FRPAC) will be held this Saturday, September 3rd. It will feature a keynote speech from the head of the Ainu Association of Hokkaido as well as various performances and displays of craftwork. The performers include Team Nikaop, a group of young Ainu from various regions sharing their different traditions, and Marewrew, the female vocal unit with great expertise in traditional Ainu upopo (songs).
